Why a Pre Army Wife?

So if you read the title of my blog your probably wondering "what the heck is a Pre Army Wife". My husband doesn't currently have a high school diploma. To join the Army you need a high school diploma, or a GED or General Equivelency Diploma with 15 college credits. Some times they have a small opening for just GED with no college credits or thay can get a waiver. Or so I've read and heard.

As of right now my hubby holds none of the above. He was that senior in school who was one credit shy of graduating and decided not to continue another year just for that one credit. But anyways during the past 2 weeks I have been searching web pages for GED practice tests. In no way do we want to pay $70 for him to take the test miss one section and be out that money. Here where we are located they allow you to pay $14 to retake each section you miss.

Lets say you miss 3 sections. That's $42 on top of the $70 you just paid. So you just spent $112 to get your diploma. Ridiculous right.

Along the way I've come across some really good practice GED tests for all subjects. They even include study guides for certain areas that you missed in the math. How awesome is that.

The test parts to the GED are as follows

  • Language Arts, Reading
  • Language Arts, Writing
  • Mathematicas
  • Science
  • Social Studies
The test is averaged to take about 7 hours. Thats a long test.

That information was found here.

But we decided it was better for him to study first since he's been out of school for 4 years. We all know its true what they say "if you don't use it you lose it". And half the stuff you learn you never really use anywys. Who cares about (7x + 3y) not me.

So until he takes the test and gets his GED and signs the contract with the Army Im a PRE Army Wife.
